Queen Victoria who reminds the Queen of the United Kingdom in Great Britain. Following her death, Lord Curzon supposed the idea of constructing a huge and eminent Palace with a museum and a garden where one and all can have a semblance of the rich past. The cornerstone of the monument was laid on January 4, 1906 by the Prince of stripe George V who later became King George V on May 6, 1910. In 1921, the memorial was opened for public. However it became part of a regional city in lieu of the capital city as by the time its working done. The capital of India was changed from Kolkata to New Delhi under the indication of King George V. Construction and architecture

Architect of Makrana marble brought from Rajasthan, Jodhpur, it measures 103meter by 69meter with a height of 56meter. Scottish physician and botanist David Prain and Lord Riversdale were placed to design the colossal garden areas covering 64 acres while the gates and the bridge of the north aspect were planned by Vincent J. Esch. Messrs. Nowadays the garden is maintained by a group of 21 horticulturists. Martin & Co. of Kolkata paddled out the construction work of the memorial. There are 25 galleries inside the memorial add the royal gallery, the statue gallery and the Kolkata gallery among others.
