A trip to a new country of the city is never complete until you visit its historical places. It’s always amazing to see the wonders our forefathers built without all the technology that we have now. Beside that historical monument reflect that area’s culture and roots more than anything else. Here is our list of top 10 historical places which everyone should visit at least once.
- Hagia Sophia, Turkey:
This mosque was started in 532 and it is one of its kind. The blue domes and stone exterior with the amazing Turkish architecture is a piece of art.
- The Great pyramids of Giza, Egypt:
It is one of the most famous wonders of the world due to the rich Egyptian culture incorporated into this monument. It is also the oldest wonder of the world.
- The Colosseum, Italy:
This is the arena that was the house of one of the most furious sports that the history has seen, the fight of gladiators. It could hold more than 50,000 spectators that gathered from all over the country to witness the gladiator fights.
- Machu Picchu, Peru:
This town is also known as the lost city of the Incas, and it is located on the top of a mountain in Peru. It is a stunning town built with stone walls by the Inca civilization which was evacuated when the Spanish came. Visiting this place once in a life is a must!
- Petra, Jordan:
This place has recently been added to the new Seven wonders of the world and the remains show that it hosted civilizations in as early as the 6th century B.C. It became more famous lately because of the movie Indiana Jones. Petra is basically carved into a rock which is just astonishing to see and we can not even imagine how it would have been made possible to build such a piece in those times.
- Easter Island, Chile:
These gigantic heads carved with such art need no words to appeal to any human being. The only remains of a civilization, these statues are made of volcanic ash, stones and they never stop startling us because of the fact that such a monument is so difficult to build even in this age with all the modern construction technologies as well.
- Wat Phra Si Sanphet, Thailand:
This historical places was built in 1448 which was actually a royal temple. It is quite well preserved and still holds its shape. Thailand is quite an interesting place itself as a whole which everyone should visit and this temple as well since it shows the actual culture of this place.
- Parthenon, Greece:
A symbol of one of the greatest civilizations, the Greeks, this place is just simply stunning. Since we have all been watching a picture of this building as a symbol for Greek civilization, it is quite amusing to actually visit that place. Most of the details have been destroyed over time, but it still holds a nice view of the entire area because of the rest of the remains of Greek civilization too surrounding it.

No words can explain this historical places ever. The details of the statues and the entire artwork of these temples is unbelievably good. This place was home to the Khmer Empire. There are a number of temples in this area each one of them enhances the entire idea of History itself.

Love has never been expressed so immensely like the Mughal Emperor Shah Jehan did for his wife. An exemplar of such love is a place worth visiting. It was made with white marble, unlike other building of its time in the Mughal Era.
